Marine turbocharging classification and principle
2022-09-26 08:51Marine turbochargers are divided into exhaust gas turbochargers, composite exhaust gas
turbochargers and combined turbochargers according to the charging mode.
Their principles are as follows:
The exhaust gas turbocharger uses the exhaust gas with a certain amount of energy from
the engine to enter the turbine and expand for work. All the power of the exhaust gas
turbine is used to drive the compressor working turbine blade rotating coaxial with the
turbine, and the fresh air is compressed in the compressor and then sent to the cylinder.
Its simple structure, reliable work, is conducive to improve the dynamic performance of
the machine, economic performance and emission quality, so it has been widely used.
Compound exhaust gas turbocharger. Exhaust gas turbocharger is the exhaust gas power
turbine and exhaust gas turbocharger in series, known as the compound exhaust gas
turbocharger. The compound exhaust gas turbocharger can make full use of the exhaust
gas energy, and greatly improve the dynamic performance and economic performance,
but the structure is complex, the cost is high and the technical difficulty is great.
Modular turbocharger. The combined turbocharger is composed of exhaust gas turbocharging
and intake inertia turbocharging. In this supercharging system, the intake pressure after
supercharging can be further increased by using the peak pressure. The system improves
the acceleration performance of diesel engine and improves the low speed torque of
diesel engine.
