Should the turbocharger be cleaned
2023-06-14 09:30Automobile turbochargers should be cleaned regularly, and if necessary, they must be cleaned; In fact, when the car model exceeds 20000 units, when going to a 4S store for maintenance, it is recommended to clean the turbocharger for the car pig. Generally, regular inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of turbochargers are carried out to check whether the sealing ring is sealed. If the sealing ring is not sealed, exhaust gas will enter the engine lubrication system through the sealing ring, causing the oil to become dirty and causing a rapid increase in crankcase pressure.
In addition, when the engine is running at low speed, oil will also be discharged from the exhaust pipe or enter the combustion chamber through the sealing ring for combustion, causing excessive consumption of oil and resulting in "oil burning". Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the turbocharger for abnormal noise or vibration, as well as for leakage in the lubricating oil pipes and joints; According to the requirements of the user manual, the compressor impeller should be cleaned once every 1000 hours of operation of the turbocharger (note that during cleaning, a cleaning solution that can corrode aluminum can be used, and a wire brush can be used).
At the same time, due to the high temperature of the turbocharger during operation, which can generally reach 800-1000 degrees, during cleaning, it is necessary to inspect the turbocharger impeller for damage and small sharp lines, the gap between the rotor shaft and floating bearings, the axial displacement of the rotor, the static and dynamic balance of the rotor, etc. If it does not meet the regulations or is damaged, it should be adjusted, repaired or replaced.
Attention: When cleaning the turbocharger, be sure to open the relief valve to prevent any cleaning water from accidentally flowing into the turbocharger housing.
